What a whirlwind of a month June has been!

Once again, I must reiterate how humbled I am by the support I've received following the cover reveal of An Ocean of Others. Thank you all so much! I hope you'll extend your enthusiasm to Felix Ortiz and Shawn T. King, both of whom did an amazing job. I'm grateful to be able to work with such incredible artists, so please check those guys out and show them your love.

Since last month, there's been a surge of new subscribers. Welcome, friends! In case this is the first you're hearing from me, here's what to expect. It's pretty simple.

On the 1st of the month, I send out the latest chapter of my sci-fi serial, Grave of the Waiting. On the 4th of the month, I send out my monthly newsletters (such as this one!). That's it! If you're only interested in receiving one of those, just DM me on Twitter or send me an email to let me know.

That's all the housekeeping I've got; let's move on to the exciting stuff!

Physical ARC Giveaway

Today marks the beginning of the Physical ARC Giveaway for An Ocean of Others. All of the contest details can be found on this page, but I'll summarize here.

To enter, all you have to do is follow me on Twitter and retweet my pinned tweet. Pretty much anyone can join; I'm running the contest worldwide. Please don't feel bad about shipping costs if you're outside of the United States. I want everybody to have a chance to win, so no matter where you are in the world, feel free to participate!

On July 23, I'll be randomly selecting the five winners from the list of people who've retweeted the post. If you win, I'll contact you by Twitter direct message and get the shipping details. Hopefully, I can get all five copies into readers' hands by August 1st, but the book may take a bit longer to reach international winners.

If you have any questions, send me a DM on Twitter or email me, and I'll get back to you right away!

In case you're unsure whether you're interested in the book, I posted the opening chapter, The Last Bounty Hunter, for you to read. I'll be posting another chapter every other week (through Chapter 5) in the lead up to the book's release; however, if you don't want to wait that long, feel free to request an eARC with this survey so you read the whole thing right away! And don't worry, that won't disqualify you from winning the Physical ARC Giveaway.

Join the ARC Team

Reading an ARC is a great service to an author! You're sacrificing your time, reading an uncorrected copy of the book, and helping us out greatly by a leaving review. I want to make sure you get something in return.

So, if you leave a review of the book before its release date on September 6, 2022, you'll be part of the ARC Team. You can always opt out, but I hope it'll be worth your while.

First, you'll become a Benefactor, which is my paid subscription tier. That means you'll get an eBook emailed to you on release day for every one of my future releases. I'll also be doing exclusive merch for Benefactors and discounts on all other merch. The list of benefits will expand, so you can always check the Benefits page to see the latest perks.

Second, you'll be added to the Acknowledgments of the book (unless you'd prefer not to be—I'll check with you beforehand). Note that the final versions of the manuscript must be uploaded no later than September 2, so if you want to make it in, you'll need to post a review essentially in August.

Finally, you'll be entered into an ARC Team giveaway for a chance to receive a signed copy of the released book plus some other loot. The winner of that giveaway will be selected on release day (September 6, 2022, for this book). A public giveaway will also begin on that day, but I expect you'll have a much higher chance of winning the ARC Team giveaway.

The benefits of joining the ARC Team may also expand, so the up-to-date list is also found on the Benefits page.

It's important to note that none of these things are dependent on the sentiment of your review. If you read an ARC and you're not enjoying it, don't feel pressured to leave a positive review under the misbelief that your ARC Team membership is in jeopardy. All I will ever ask for is your honest thoughts.

So, that wraps it up for this month's update. If you're in the United States, happy Independence Day! If you're in Britain, well, better luck next time. 😜

As always, thanks for reading!
